Saudade (Portuguese):

"a feeling of longing, melancholy, or nostalgia"

Saudade Magazine was co-founded by Alistair Hornsby and Liv Myers in the late summer of 2017. After returning from a two month road trip around America, they wanted a way to remember their 8,000 miles in a van. Both were armed with an analogue camera on the trip, and so compiled their photographs and words from diaries kept along the way. Living and travelling with other creatives during the year spent in North America, the founders of Saudade wanted to feature pieces by each.

Writers featured in the Pacific Northwest section: Rhys Baker, Joely Holder, and Emma Phillips. In the West Coast section: Eva Poliszczuk, Alice Sarkany, and Meg Trump.
